Creating a culture of team dialogue: getting started with performance boards

Team dialogue is the antithesis of a command-and-control culture. Team dialogue is about everybody understanding, and contributing to, the performance of the team in a more meaningful way. Of course, it is about having the right data and information but, more than that, it is about mindset and behaviours.

This course will help you set on the right road towards building a truly engaging and inclusive team dialogue which will set the foundations for you to drive a learning team culture in which Continuous Improvement becomes a habit rather than a program.

Opportunities Hidden in Your Value Stream

Is your value stream fit for business?  Are your value stream improvements exploiting all the opportunities for improvement that are available?  How do you find them?

Join PMI Director Consultant Warren Knight as he talks about understanding how well work flows through your system, covering:

  • Why improvement opportunities evade our capture
  • Our ability to see the whole picture
  • The true root causes of value stream performance
  • How to capture hidden opportunities
What makes Improvement Continuous

‘Getting better’ is something most of us intend to do. Whether it’s at football, dieting or speaking a foreign language.  The concept is not new to us; in fact, television and social media are full of ‘how to get better at…’ every day.  But it is difficult, and many of us give up before we reach the goal, envying the success stories of those who keep going – those who are improving continuously.

It’s no different in the workplace.  Leaders want their organisations to improve, and the people doing the work are often equally keen for things to get better.  Initiatives abound, but almost everyone asks the same question; “How do we sustain this? How do we make improvement continuous?”

Warren Knight, Director Consultant with PMI, picks up the challenge and explores what makes improvement continuous, covering:

  • Organisational culture
  • Roles in improvement
  • Systems to support continuous improvement
Learning to see

How visible is the performance of your key processes?  How well can you detect issues before they become problems?  By what means do you review, confirm and interpret what is going on with the work that is performed?

The pace of business change has increased exponentially in recent times; the ability to understand current performance and respond appropriately has become even more important.

Join PMI Senior Consultant Damion Albinson as he talks about visual management and process confirmation, two key tools that can support you with this challenge.  He will cover:

  • An overview of the tools
  • The purpose of each tool
  • The mindset which enables them to be more successful
  • Sustaining them in a virtual environment
Getting to grips with FMEA

Using FMEA to mitigate risk

We live in a rapidly changing world and face huge competition.  Statistics describe the rate of change in exponential terms, and reports suggest the amount and pace of competition will accelerate 4x in the next 20 years.   “ Standing still is the fastest way of moving backwards in a rapidly changing world” – Lauren Bacall

We are under pressure to innovate and evolve and to do this rapidly, but the speed of change that is required increases our risk.

Join PMI Partner Consultant Des Kelly as he shows how using Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) to learn about your products or services can help you mitigate these risks, including:

  • Identifying what might fail
  • The effects of the failure
  • The likelihood of the failure
