We’ve put together our FAQs for the UK Excellence Awards 2026 to answer your questions and help you make the most of your evening.
From what to expect on the night to practical details about the event, we hope you’ll find everything you need to enjoy your awards experience to the fullest.

What time should I arrive?
Doors will open at 5pm and a paid bar is available. The official drinks reception starts at 6pm but most people arrive around 5pm to ensure they make the most out of your time at Wembley. The BQF team will be on hand from 5pm to make you feel at home.
If I have been invited to the Sponsors VIP reception, do I get a free ticket?
Attending the Sponsor VIP reception is an upgrade to your existing booked ticket. All invitees will be given a Sponsor VIP wristband to access the reception they have been invited to.
What is the dress code?
Traditionally, the event is black tie, but we would like to ensure everybody feels comfortable, so we are asking you to ‘Dress to Celebrate’, leaving a little more room for creativity.
Will I be expected to say any words on stage if I win?
No, we do not ask for winners to make any speeches on stage. In the case of winning, you will be asked on stage and be presented with your trophy. You will then be asked to have your photo taken and speak to our resident podcaster, Matt Sims, about your win.
Will you publish seating plans and menus ahead of time?
We allocate seating based on time of booking – so the earlier you got your tickets the closer to the front you will be. Sponsors will be at the front. We sit you with the organisation who purchased your ticket unless you tell us otherwise on your registration form. Where organisations have indicated they would like to sit with/near other organisations on their attendee form we will do our best to accommodate this. A seating plan will be displayed upon arrival.
We do not publish the menu ahead of time – we cater for dietary requirements that are listed on your registration form.
What happens if I come alone?
Where you have asked to be next to a specific person/team we will aim to accommodate this. Where no preference is given, we aim to seat you with people we believe will make interesting dinner companions for you. During the drinks reception we will make every effort to introduce people so that nobody is left standing alone.
Will you cater to my dietary requirements?
We ask for all dietary requirements to be listed on the attendee form and we will cater to these. Where the requirement is a preference rather than a medical need, we will take these into account as much as possible, e.g. if you do not like the meat on offer, we will not provide an alternative meat dish, but will allocate you the vegetarian option.
Do I have to chose between soft drinks and alcohol?
We have asked you to indicate a soft drinks or alcohol option to help ensure all our attendees have a great experience. Drinks will be on the tables in the appropriate proportions to preferences provided at registration and all tables will have water available. There is a bar if you wish to purchase additional drinks.
When will we receive invites with further details?
We will be sending out e-invites around 3/4 weeks before the event. To ensure you receive your invite in a timely manner, please ensure you have completed the attendee detail form sent out following your ticket booking. Please ensure the name you have registered with matches that on your ID as Wembley will need to match these on your arrival.
Will I be able to see the Wembley pitch?
Yes, there will be access available after the awards ceremony for those that would like to look at the pitch. Stadium tours can also be arranged directly with Wembley during the day - https://bookings.wembleytours.com/stadiumtours/booking/default.htm
Do you have any hotel discounts?
We do not have any discounted rates with hotels however there are a range of different hotels available in and around Wembley Park should you wish to stay overnight.
How do I get to Wembley?

Can you help me with Visa applications?
We can write you a letter confirming that you are a finalist at the awards, but do not get involved in Visa applications beyond that.
Will the event be accessible for people with disabilities?
Yes, there are lifts available to all levels and there will be several members of the BQF team to support you as and when needed with any issues. If there are any accessibility requirements needed on the night, please indicate this on your attendee form or get in touch with awards@bqf.org.uk. Due to the nature of the event there will be bright lights and loud music/cheering.
