Successful Digital Disruption Event

Tue, 17/10/2017 - 16:08

On Thursday the 12th of October, Barclays, one of our Gold Members, hosted our Digital Disruption event.

Professor Julian Birkinshaw, one of the world’s foremost experts of digitisation and change, with delegates and speakers, explored whether digital ‘disruption’ is just another organisational issue or a business change that needs to be managed.

Six powerful and passionate presentations were given by BarclaysKPMGRESILIAPlayQuid and Julian Birkinshaw on topics such as ‘Digital: It’s in our DNA‘, ‘The Business Implications of Digital Labour‘ and ‘Why your people are your cyber heroes‘. Each of the speakers shared their thoughts and experiences on digitalisation and the challenges it presents to us. The presentation inspired the already engaged audience some thought provoking questions. The industry wide audience included members and non-members from Adecco, Siemens, ARM, Virgin Media, Eurovia UK and KPMG.

Prior to the event a questionnaire was sent to delegates with the aim to collect data around the levels of Digital Maturity among organisations. The information gathered from the questionnaires will be presented in a report and will be sent around in due course. If you’re interested in taking part in our report please fill in our questionnaire and send it back to [email protected]

Quotes from the event:

Bam Nuttall representative:

First event I have ever been to in over 30 years where every speaker was excellent. Such an engaging and insightful event and to think I nearly cancelled out on attending.

Bam Nuttall representative:

A fantastic event. I’ve been in the IT industry for almost 30 years. This event highlighted again that as key leaders we not only have to invest in the changing technology but invest in education for our clients and employees that this change is coming but well support you in that journey.

Ricoh UK Products representative:

I took away something really important from every speaker which is truly remarkable having attended countless conferences in the past, some of which have covered this topic. This was the best themed event that I have attended in my 25 years as a professional manager with a really coherent and connected series of messages delivered by people who were truly passionate about their subject and recognised as thought leaders in their area of expertise.

Ricoh UK Products representative:

It was without a doubt the best workshop event I’ve ever attended (and I’ve attended a fair few).  Every presenter gave us something memorable to think about and the quality of the speakers was first class.

Barclays representative:

All of the speakers were really engaging with lots of great content. Really pleasing to see many different companies represented, too.
