John Lewis Magna Park achieves EFQM Recognised for Excellence (R4E)

John Lewis Magna Park, one of six distribution centres in the John Lewis supply chain around the UK, and a multi-award winning state of the art logistics facility for johnlewis.com online orders, has successfully achieved a 5-star EFQM Recognised for Excellence (R4E) following a rigorous assessment in June 2019, after taking feedback from John Lewis Magna Park’s previous assessment in 2017, where they received a 4-star R4E.

EFQM Recognised for Excellence is Europe’s leading recognition programme for organisational performance, and forms part of the EFQM Levels of Excellence.

Ian Fretwell, Partners & Improvement Manager at John Lewis Magna Park said:

“Since our last assessment by the BQF team in July 2019, we have been extremely proud to have positively progressed from our initial R4E assessment score of 4* accreditation, to our new rating of 5* against the EFQM framework. This shows our teams across the campus that the hard work and effort put in each day to drive the campus forward is all worth it and culminates in a recognition that is bench marked against organisations across Europe.  With all the day-to-day operational activities, we lose the ability to see what we have and are achieving, both on site and in our local community. This process gives us the feedback we require and enables us to see what we have done and what we can do to continue on our journey, to make the campus the site we aspire to be. This different perspective allows us to build our plans and activities against a set of opportunities, where everyone can play their part, showing us where our strengths lie alongside the opportunities for further improvement.”

The BQF Lead Assessor added:

“The assessors with impressed with the amount of improvement seen across all aspects of operations since their last visit two years ago. The Senior Leadership Team are really leading by example and are dedicated to finding innovative solutions and improvements for all stakeholders, e.g. the WellBeing Centre offering treatments on site, the increasingly sophisticated automation and close collaborative working with suppliers. Continuous Improvement is embedded in the DNA of John Lewis Magna Park Distribution and the 5* Recognition is just reward for these efforts.”
