GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), a science-led global healthcare company with a special purpose to help people do more, feel better and live longer, has successfully achieved a 2-star EFQM Committed to Excellence (C2E) following a rigorous assessment in August 2019. They have 3 global businesses that research, develop and manufacture innovative pharmaceutical medicines, vaccines and consumer healthcare products.
EFQM Committed to Excellence (C2E) is an assessment and recognition scheme that helps you introduce an excellence initiative into your organisation and deliver improved results. It is an action-based learning project that entails identifying, prioritising and implementing improvement projects using the EFQM Excellence Model and RADAR logic.
Frank de Souza, Quality Culture QMS Programme Lead at GSK said:
We have a programme that is transforming our Quality Management System(QMS). Our goal is to deliver an industry leading QMS that will be fit for the future by making it easy to understand and use, so it becomes the simplest and best way to do things.
The C2E assessment was a great opportunity for us to have an independent review of our programme – we got a lot out of the day. I am so happy for our team to get the recognition they deserve – for all the hard work they’ve put into building a programme that is making a difference for our internal customers.
The Lead Assessor also added:
This is clearly a thought leading approach and an ambitious programme to transform the QMS. The GSK QMS Next Generation team were able to demonstrate how they are putting their customer at the heart of everything they do and are getting great results. The leadership team are real role models of the required behaviours and are leading the culture change needed for this programme to achieve the full success and ambition.
