Excellence in Environmental Responsibility Award 2020

Excellence in Environmental Responsibility Award

040 BQF UK Excellence Awards 2020 - Excellence in Environmental Responsibility Award

There is a duty that organisations have to operate in a way that protects the environment and this is becoming increasingly important to investor stakeholders as well as customers and society.

It means ensuring that actions and lifestyles do not have such a negative impact on the environment. Also, it is the responsible and ethical management of products and processes from the point of view of health, safety and environmental aspects.

Why apply?

This is very much a ‘hot topic’ for organisations today and many are working effectively to make a difference. This new award for 2020 is a great way to recognise those efforts and an opportunity to share your achievements with others who will be keen to learn from a potentially award winning organisation.

Who should apply?

This award welcomes entries from organisations that have developed and implemented strategies and policies which recognise the importance of their responsibility towards the environment. There will be many examples of environmental systems, initiatives and supporting results which clearly demonstrate the seriousness with which this topic is managed.

How to apply?

Entry is simple – by completion of an online application form and submission of supporting evidence.

Application Criteria

The judges will be looking for excellent examples which demonstrate a positive and long term impact on the environment and can show the seriousness that this topic is considered within the organisation. There will be the involvement of relevant stakeholders in the approaches used and there should be supporting results which can evidence the achievements.

PLEASE NOTE: Gold and Gold Plus members are entitled to 1 free entry to either Excellence in Awards or the Lean Six Sigma Academy Award. Silver members are entitled to a half price entry to either Excellence in Awards or the Lean Six Sigma Academy Award.

Mathew Jane

Head of Environment and Building Services at University of Winchester

Mathew Jane

“I am responsible for the University of Winchester environmental and sustainability programmes and have been working in the sector for over 20 years. I manage the University Environment team, energy contracts, energy efficiency programmes, carbon reduction programme, waste management, fleet, travel and transport and the reactive and planned maintenance of the University estate.

The University previously won this category and we would find it very useful to see what great work other organisations are doing.
