Who should apply?
This award welcomes entries from organisations where customers are clearly important, where they are involved in helping to create new and/or enhanced products and services and where relevant measures and results demonstrate the effectiveness of customer focused efforts.
How to apply?
Entry is simple – by completion of an online application form and submission of supporting evidence.
Judges will be looking to learn about what you consider as excellence in the way that a customer focused project has been both planned and implemented. They will want to know how you can demonstrate that excellence through best practice approaches with supporting results.
PLEASE NOTE: Gold and Gold Plus members are entitled to 1 free entry to either Excellence in Awards or the Lean Six Sigma Academy Award. Silver members are entitled to a half price entry to either Excellence in Awards or the Lean Six Sigma Academy Award.

“I am now in my 25th year on the railway, starting as a Guard and working my way through many promotions including Control Manager, Quality Manager and now Business Improvement Manager. I was first trained as an EFQM assessor in 2007 and have successfully taken rail business’ through three EFQM assessments. “My career background is primarily within the Hospitality and Tourism Sector, and I have extensive experience in general management, marketing, research and education; underpinned by recognised qualifications. I founded Austen Bennett in 1988, a successful business consultancy dedicated to improving the performance of people, businesses and customer service within both the public and private sector. This included over 100 Hospitality Assured and Investors in People assessments, and countless learning and development interventions.
I am also a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality (IOH) and a Director of Hospitality Assured which is focused on optimising business and service excellence. I am passionate about promoting quality and professional customer service and achieve this through a philosophy of continuous learning and development for myself and for others through workshops, audits, coaching and mentoring. I have worked as a Master Trainer for a number of Tourist Boards including training volunteers for the UK 2012 Olympics.

Yes, you can enter as many individuals as you like for this Leadership Award.
Can I nominate myself for this award?
Individuals cannot apply themselves but should be nominated by a reporting line manager/Head of/Director or previous employer. The nomination should be endorsed by an additional peer, stakeholder or client.
When is entry deadline?
Entry deadlines for the Innovation, Lean Six Sigma and Leadership awards are all on the 31st of October.
