Organisations perform better when they include the best people who come from a range of diverse backgrounds. It is now widely recognised that skilled and committed staff play a vital part in ensuring a responsive and customer care service, maintaining its success and having the competitive edge. The process includes finding effective ways to convey that the frame of equality, diversity and inclusion is a valuable asset, providing a richer environment of ideas and views.

The workshop will be interactive, with anecdotes, case law and practice scenarios. Due to the expertise and experience of the facilitator, the session can be adapted to meet participants’ needs. All queries will be responded to in a sensitive and understanding manner. Taking into consideration that some of the discussions may be highly emotive, the facilitation style and method will model the concept of respect and dignity.

The workshop will enable you to:

    • Have a better understanding of diversity, what it means in practice and its value within an organisational context.
    • Consider the business case for diversity into practice with key points for implementation.
    • Value the points of accountability, changing the what into how.
    • Understand the legal framework and implications in relation to Bullying and Harassment within the context of organisational responsibility and individual responsibility.
    • Consider the impact of making assumptions and stereotyping, in relation to behaviour and language – Model of Assumption.

        • Undertaking monitoring and evaluation of practices.
    • Organisational Responsibility and Reputation.
        • The value of taking responsibility as opposed to the inactive laisse faire attitude.
        • Defining your organisation reputation on the basis of its diversity policies and practices.
    • Employee Responsibility and Rights.
        • Acknowledging the rights of the employees – right to be treated with respect and dignity.
        • Highlighting individual responsibility and organisation policies/procedures.
    • Acceptable Continuum.
        • Best practices within the frame of appropriate attitude, behaviour and language.
        • Interacting effectively with staff and raise their awareness of good practice and its implications.
        • Understand the value of early intervention and addressing issues promptly and effectively.
