As a qualified EFQM Assessor, have you thought about developing your skills to the next level?

The new EFQM course for advanced assessors is designed to build on your experience, develop your assessor skills further and enable you to deliver messages to a senior team with credibility.

The Qualified Assessor Training is an intensive 3-day pass/fail course that focuses on the practical application of the assessor competences, provides a deeper understanding of the technical aspects of the EFQM Excellence Model and develops further understanding of an organisations’ context and strategic priorities. The purpose of the training is to produce highly skilled and qualified assessors ready to:

  • Conduct robust assessments of an organisation based on the EFQM Excellence Model.
  • Deliver balanced, value-adding feedback to an organisation at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Make a valuable contribution to an external assessor team acting on behalf of EFQM, BQF or any other EFQM national partner.

The course is designed for:

  • Experienced assessors who aspire to participate in international assessments or take on a more significant role in assessment teams.
  • Internal assessors who want to deliver strategic feedback with credibility.
  • Anyone who wants to enhance their consultancy skills.

It is a pre-requisite that participants successfully complete EAT and have some experience of assessment.

This experience could have been gained from being part of an internal EFQM self-assessment team or from involvement in external award assessments through BQF or EFQM. If you would like to discuss the suitability of your experience, please contact Gail Tutcher at [email protected]

What to expect:

Using a real case study, the course emulates an assessment of an organisation that has applied for Recognised for Excellence

Day 1:  Understanding the organisation- the organisational context for an assessment, stakeholder analysis, strategic and operational level assessments, understanding RADAR in more detail.

Day 2: Conducting the site visit- developing the site visit plan, preparing and conducting interviews, assessing the evidence, understanding maturity in excellence

Day 3: Producing feedback- writing operational and strategic feedback, developing robust and consistent RADAR scoring profiles, presenting strategic feedback, reflecting on your personal development

There is a substantial piece of pre-course work (approximately 15 hours) which must be completed prior to the start of the course. There is also a homework test exercise on the evening of day 2. The tutor works with a maximum of 6 participants and provides ongoing assessment and feedback throughout the course.

Successful completion of the QAT course qualifies you to conduct external Committed to Excellence and Recognised for Excellence assessments on behalf of the EFQM or one of its national partners. All assessments are arranged and managed by the EFQM and its partners. The qualification is also a pre-requisite for anyone who wishes to apply to be a part of an assessment team for the EFQM Excellence Award from 2017.
