Barbara is the founding director of Learning Pathways Cymru Ltd (a bespoke leadership development business focusing on the conversational aspects of leadership); prior to that she had 31 years’ experience as a Maths teacher, senior leader and head teacher in secondary education in England and in Wales with the final 8 years as Headteacher of a secondary school in Merthyr Tydfil.
With a wealth of experience in designing and facilitating learning and development interventions, she expanded her qualification base by becoming an Ashridge Business School accredited coach, with a master’s degree in Executive Coaching. She is also a qualified Action Learning Set facilitator, has trained as an Appreciative Inquiry facilitator and holds a basic certificate in Transactional Analysis amidst other conversational techniques.
As part of her business, she is the Executive Chair and Project Manager of the Leading Wales Awards (www.leadingwalesawards.wales) and has been since their inception in 2004 to the present day.
Currently the event coordinator for Engage for Success Wales, Barbara is also embarked on a professional doctorate which is focusing on the conversational leadership skills of clinicians in NHS Wales required to actively engage patients, with chronic health conditions, to manage their own well-being. Most recently, linked with this doctorate, she has become a Bevan Advocate.
