Taking place at the Guildhall in the City of London on 15 March 2018, this Black Tie event is a must-attend for anyone in the business world.

RECOGNITION YOU DESERVE.

CELEBRATING THE BEST

With British business facing many challenges and a potentially uncertain outlook over the next few years, it is crucial to be proud of our achievements, showcase our successes and strengthen our tenacity in the face of adversity. The winners and finalists at our UK Excellence Awards Ceremony have all demonstrated exceptional attributes and values which make Britain excel and it is important that we come together to recognise these achievements.

Our UK Excellence Awards offer guests not only the opportunity to network but also to  celebrate with over 500 professional and senior decision makers throughout the evening. As well as the ceremony itself, the night also offers an exclusive drinks reception and an awards after party, which will both be held in the largest surviving medieval Crypts in London – the oldest part of Guildhall dating back to the time of Edward the Confessor.

This Black Tie event will bring together organisations celebrating their achievements in improving business operations and delivering excellence outcomes.

HISTORY OF GUILDHALL

An enduring symbol of London’s past and present, Guildhall remains an extraordinary setting for unforgettable experiences.

Our awards ceremony will be held in the Great Hall, the City’s only secular medieval building. Since 1411, this magnificent space has been used to entertain royalty and Heads of State in a tradition that still lives on within the City today.

Natural light floods into the Great Hall from two huge Gothic windows. Between the side windows that are emblazoned with the names of Lord Mayors hang the banners of London’s 12 Great Livery Companies. Statues celebrating Britain’s national heroes including Admiral Lord Nelson, the Duke of Wellington and Sir Winston Churchill line the walls.

The Great Hall has witnessed its share of drama. During the turmoil of the Reformation, peers, an archbishop and a queen were tried here for treason. It has been the setting for the pomp and circumstance of state and mayoral occasions since 1502 when Sir John Shaw held ‘a feast’.

The feast has since become a traditional banquet, the first dinner hosted by each Lord Mayor, at which the Prime Minister delivers a keynote speech. It’s here that every year the City Corporation and the Liverymen elect the new Lord Mayor.
