This annual award is open to any organisation in Southern England. Applications are made using a simple workbook describing how the organisation addresses the nine criteria of the Excellence Model.

Applications are assessed by a team of specially trained assessors (the process includes a site visit) with the winners selected by an independent jury. Each applicant receives a comprehensive report from the assessor team as well as a publication containing best practice across all the applicants.

Following the first round of assessments, the Award Jury met on 19th June, and selected the following Finalists for the 2008 Award:

• 3663 First for Foodservice, Salisbury Depot
• Elmtree School
• Lee Valley Regional Park Authority

Congratulations! The winner(s) of the Southern England Excellence Award will be announced at the UK Excellence Award Ceremony to be held at the London Hilton, Park Lane on Tuesday 14th October 2008.

The overall winner will also compete with the winners of the North of England and Midlands Excellence Awards for the title of ‘Regional Excellence Award Winner of the year’ also presented at the UK Award Excellence Ceremony on 14th October.
