European Assessor Training (EAT) can be provided either via a three day, accredited diploma course delivered by BQF or by means of a two day course delivered by licensed trainers, listed below.

Please click here to see a list of those who have passed the the European Assessor Training (EAT) assessed training and competency evaluation program.

Accredited European Assessor Training

This three day diploma course includes a full set of Assessor competencies and has a systematic and documented set of procedures for assessing delegates and arriving at consistent conclusions. Delegates will be required to complete a full case study that will take 25-35 hours. The delegate to trainer ratio (6:1) is designed to ensure that each delegate gets individual feedback and coaching during the course. There are three possible outcomes for each delegate – Pass, Further development needed or Fail.

The material has been designed by EFQM and the training will be provided by experienced BQF Licensed Trainers. Delegates will receive a 'pass' if they can achieve pre-determined levels of assessor competencies. They will also receive a diploma certificate and will be entitled to include the words "Accredited European Excellence Assessor" on CV's and publicity material.

European Assessed Assessor Training courses will be available at regular intervals during the year, and any assessor who has successfully completed the course will be eligible to apply to be a UK Excellence Award Assessor. The assessed version of EAT will also be used as a qualifying standard to be attained by new National and International Licensed Trainers.

European Assessor Training (EAT)

This two day course is interactive and involves both classroom and syndicate work. All work is based upon a case study and 10-15 hours of work that needs to be undertaken before attending the course.

This course covers :

  • the award simulation assessment process
  • advanced understanding of the EFQM Excellence Model
  • scoring using the RADAR matrix
  • understanding the organisation being assessed
  • identifying key themes
  • reaching consensus
  • the basis of site visits and
  • preparing and delivering feedback reports and presentations.

European Assessor Training is provided by Open Market Licensed Trainers.

Please contact any one of these Licensees for further information.

The European Assessor Training course is similar to the Accredited European Assessor Training accredited version. Delegates will acquire the skills and knowledge required to effectively assess an organisation as part of an assessment team, following an award simulation approach but the course will not involve an evaluation of the delegates own competencies. Any new Licensed Trainers will need to pass this diploma course as part of the requirement to gain a UK licence.

Existing license holders who allow their license to lapse will also be required to pass the Accredited EAT course.
