Following the success of its 2009 Lean Six Sigma Awards, the BQF Lean Six Sigma Academy is delighted to announce the 2010 awards for Lean Six Sigma improvement projects.
The focus of the awards program is to demonstrate to the UK business community the real results and excellence that people can achieve through the successful deployment of Lean and Six Sigma programmes.
The Awards present a great opportunity for organisations to win recognition for the great work that their Six Sigma and business excellence people are delivering to customers, shareholders and other key stakeholders.
Recognition
In 2010 winners will be announced at the BQF UK Excellence Awards event on Thursday 21st October at the InterContinental London Park Lane and will be invited to present their projects at the BQF Award Winners Conference in December.
The awards are open to all organisations of all sizes in the private and public sectors.
How To Enter

Entries are accepted from individuals or project teams. Applicants need to submit a description of the project using no more than 1,500 words and 10 PowerPoint slides. More than one entry per organisation is permitted.
Judging Process
Judges will be looking primarily at the methodology used and the results achieved rather than organisational transformation or the scale of the project.
They will use the following criteria to assess entries:
- Understanding the problem
- Methodology used
- Applying the correct Lean and/or Six Sigma tools
- Achieving bottom line results
Benefits of Entry
- Third party recognition of successful projects
- Staff motivation through third party recognition
- Inspiration to others to undertake improvement activities
Awards Schedule
The closing date for award applications is 30 July 2010
Shortlisted candidates will present projects to the Academy judging panel on 20 August and finalists will be announced in September.
