Sustainable Development

Sustainable Development is the high profile issue of the moment. To help BQF members share knowledge and best practice in this crucial area we have established a Networking Group. The events help members to improve their sustainable development initiatives.

Steering Committee

Previous events

• Visit to Wolseley Sustainable Building Center - the UK's first commercial showcase for sustainable building products and construction methods. It enables all involved in construction - from architects through to jobbing builders - to experience the latest technologies and the widest range of sustainable, energy-efficient and recycled building products.
  

• How Sustainable is Your Supply Chain? - visit to Manchester United's Old Trafford Stadium At this event, run in partnership with North of England Excellence, delegates heard a presentation from Keith McIntosh, Health Safety and Environment Manager at Manchester United and their supplier, Andrew Robinson, Director at Rigby Taylor who worked together to successfully transform their supply chain. There was also a presentation from Barbara Morton, Director of Sustainable Procurement Ltd who explained what the issues are and also provided understanding as to what should be done and why.
