Each year Assessors for the European and UK Excellence Awards are trained using the official EFQM case studies and training materials. These materials are also available, under certain conditions, to other users.

EFQM owns the copyright on all publications describing the detail of the assessment process, and all the materials are extensively tested, therefore organisations or assessors wishing to carry out a genuine award style assessment should use the legitimate materials to get the best results. These official materials are only available from BQF or EFQM

Case Studies and Model Scorebooks

Case Studies are fictitious award submissions, and provide a useful training tool for learning how to assess an organisation, using the Excellence Model and the RADAR scoring system.

Model Answer books represent a consensus view from a group of testing assessors. These are available for delegates' information and comparison. The following case studies are based on the latest version of the Excellence Model:
