The UK Excellence Award helps organisations pinpoint their strengths

Applying for the UK Excellence Award

The 2012 UK Excellence Award is now closed for entries.

Applying for the UKEA

Applicants for the UK Excellence Award undergo a thorough assessment against the EFQM Excellence Model. This is undertaken by a team of highly skilled Award Assessors and includes a site visit.

Those organisations that are selected by the Award Jury as Finalists and Winner(s) will have demonstrated sustained excellence in every area of the Model.

Eligibility

New applicants need to complete a qualification file to ensure that their organisation meets the eligibility criteria for this Award:

  • minimum 2 years continuous operating history in the UK
  • 50% or more of the applicant's employees or asset base must be examinable in the UK
  • results demonstrating improving trends for at least the last 3 years
  • applicants need to demonstrate a broad range of functions examinable against the Model criteria
  • applicants must not have won a UK Excellence Award in the last 3 years

Award facilitation

UK Excellence Award eligibility

To ensure applicants have every opportunity to present their organisation to its full advantage, an experienced Award Facilitator will be appointed by the BQF to assist in the planning and production of the submission material.

There is no extra cost for this service but it is bound by certain rules and restrictions to ensure fairness of the process.

'This Award coincides with our best year's financial results ever, so if anybody was still in any doubt that business excellence improves your company's performance, this is very hard evidence for you.'
Juergen Maier, Managing Director, Siemens Industry Automation & Drive Technologies - 2011 UK Excellence Award winner
