Recognised for Excellence is designed for organisations that are well on their way to organisational excellence. These organisations, or organisational units, have experience in implementing Excellence concepts and Management Frameworks. R4E recognises successful efforts to implement excellence and good practice and offers the benefits of a structured approach to identifying organisational strengths and areas for improvement as well as an external point of view.

Any organisation, regardless of location, size or sector, should apply - whether large businesses, small and medium sized enterprises, public and voluntary sector organisations, or operational
units.

External feedback from an experienced team of practicing managers. These Assessors will assess and provide an independent written feedback on strengths and areas for improvements for your organisation. The feedback helps to focus improvement activity and can serve as an input for your business planning
Receive a distinctive and prestigious international recognition based on the most widely used Management framework in Europe (The EFQM Excellence Model).
Benchmark against other organisations using the same framework, including role model organisations.
Gain practical experience and learn from preparing for the assessment
The programme offers applicants the benefits of a structured approach to identify organisational strengths and areas for improvement. It recognises organisations that achieve a validated score of 300 points or more, and helps to maintain the journey towards excellence through three separate levels of scoring and recognition:
300+ points = 3 Star
400+ points = 4 Star
500+ points = 5 Star
Independent Assessor teams review a submission document or undertake a real time assessment and provide a feedback report which identifies areas for further improvement, together with a scoring profile which allows applicants to compare themselves with other organisations. This process is not time sensitive, and can take place at any time throughout the year.
Organisations confirmed as Recognised for Excellence, will be considered as one step away from UK or European Award Finalist level. They will also benefit from inclusion on the European Levels of Excellence database and may wish to use certificates and logos which recognise the different levels of excellence attained in their promotional efforts.
Feedback will be provided to all successful and unsuccessful organisations,
identifying areas for improvement.

Applicants are offered a choice of three approaches to assessment and will discuss with the BQF which is the best approach for them at the time of application. This may be to write a submission document with a pre-determined format or undertake a real time assessment on site. All approaches will include hosting a team of BQF trained Assessors on a site visit.
